OnFocus: What subjects/classes have been your favorite, and why?

My favorite classes in high school were Psychology and Sociology. I love learning about how the brain works and how people react to different environmental factors.

OnFocus: What are your hobbies?

I love to go for runs and spend time with family and friends. However, my greatest passion is volunteerism and helping others! It is my passion to make sure that everyone in my community is taken care of, if that is making sure they have shelter or food to eat, that is my passion and hobby.

OnFocus: Who is/was your first favorite teacher and why?

My favorite teacher in high school was my Spanish teacher Mrs. Zastrow. During class, she made learning the language fun and interactive. I enjoyed her personality and overall approach with teaching.

OnFocus: What is the most unusual food you have eaten?

The most unusual food that I have ever eaten is octopus.

OnFocus: What is your favorite music to listen to?

My favorite music to listen to is pop music.

OnFocus:  What are your plans after high school?

After high school, I will be attending Saint Norbert College to double major in Psychology and Political Science. I hope to run my own non-profit organization someday to aid my community in every possible way.

OnFocus:  If they made a movie about you, and your life,  what would it be called?

If someone made a movie about my life, it would most likely be called, “Living to Serve”.

OnFocus: What sports did you play throughout your high school career?

I was a three sport athlete throughout my four years of high school. I played Volleyball my freshman year, and Cross Country the remaining three years in the fall. I also played Basketball and Soccer for Mosinee all four years of my high school experience.

OnFocus: Which teammate would you not want to be stranded with on a deserted island?

Honestly, I can’t think of any of my teammates that I would not want to be stranded with on a deserted island. I have been very blessed to have some amazing people on my teams throughout the years.

OnFocus:  What are some memorable moments you have had as an athlete?

The most memorable moment I had as an athlete was when I hit the game winning free-throw to send us to the Regional Final during the 2023 Basketball season. The time was ticking down, and we were tied 59-59 with Shawano. My teammate, Taelyn, was dribbling the ball up top and drove to the basket. Then, she dished it to me and I got fouled when I was shooting a layup. I missed the first free-throw and the whole crowd let out a big sigh. The next free-throw, I could not hear any of the crowd and I was completely locked in on the basket. I sunk the freethrow and we ended up winning the game. That is a moment that I will truly never forget in my life.

OnFocus:  Who are your favorite athletes and/or teams?

My favorite athlete is Lionel Messi.

OnFocus: What do you enjoy most about competing in front of family, friends and fans?

I enjoy the community that it creates and the memories that competition provides. I will never forget the nights when the student section is packed and they are chanting all sorts of things. I also will never forget the feeling of giving my family and teammates hugs after games and the love we collectively share for the game.

OnFocus:  Do you have a funny or unusual moment(s) you have experienced in sports?

A funny moment that I have experienced in sports was when we were at a team dinner for Cross Country. I accidentally threw a frisbee into a pond and my teammate, Izzy, took a boat on the side of the lake with a big hole in it and went to retrieve the frisbee. We literally told her not to go in the boat because we thought it was going to sink, but thankfully she made it back to shore with the frisbee in hand.

OnFocus: What’s the best thing about being a student-athlete?

The best thing about being a student athlete was the connections I made with different people through the years. Firstly, I made unbreakable bonds with my teammates and made lifelong memories that I will never forget. Secondly, I made connections with opposing players from different schools. For example, during my senior year, I became closer friends with a player from an opposing basketball team. We had similar values and it was heartwarming to make a connection with someone even though we were competing against each other. All in all, being a student athlete is something I encourage others to do because of the connections and people it will bring you.

OnFocus:  What words of wisdom can you give to other student-athletes?

Make sure to prioritize certain aspects in your life and know that you do not have to do it all. Join the clubs that are going to make you happy and that you are passionate about it.

OnFocus: Lastly, pancakes or waffles?
