Mosinee played Amherst on a warm, calm night under the lights at Mosinee’s Veterans’ Stadium. Amherst came into the game in second place in the Central Wisconsin Conference. Mosinee is in second place in the Great Northern Conference. Mosinee took little time, however, to separate themselves from the competition.

For the first 10 minutes Mosinee put pressure on the Amherst goal, but the shots for Mosinee were off target. Some went wide, but most were right at the Amherst keeper who kept the score sheet clean. But when Caden Schmirler broke through, the goals came quickly. Schmirler took over a through ball from Toren Holtz and made a clinical finish into the far side netting at 11”.  Just two minutes later he scored from a Cole Holtz assist. Then at 14” Ethan Tazelaar ambushed the Amherst defense by overlapping from his position in the back line of Mosinee, assisted by Jaeger Dhein.

There was a reprieve for a few minutes until Toren Holtz scored at 21”, assisted by Ondrej Naprovnik. Toren returned the favor just 2 minutes later and Nopravnik got a goal of his own. The next goals came at 30” and 32”, by Toren Holtz then Jaeger Dhein, both assisted by Cole Holtz. That stopped the scoring for the half, making it Mosinee 7, Amherst 0. But Mosinee wasn’t done yet.
