Mosinee Takes Down Antigo in 8 Innings

Mosinee hosted Antigo in a big conference matchup tonight. It would take 8 innings, but the Indians would win 7-6. Mosinee was down 6-5 going into the bottom of the seventh until Taylor Lemanski launch a deep fly ball to the left center fence that the left field miss played to plate the tieing run. Then in the bottom of the eighth Sawyer Holtz came up with a two out double, which was then followed by a Blake Nichols single to drive in the winning run. Taylor Lemanski would get the win in relief holding the Red Robin’s scoreless the final 2 innings striking out 2 and walked 1.

Garrett Shupe tossed the first 4 innings striking out 6 and walked 3, followed by Ethan Oatman’s 2 innings 2 strike outs and no walks. Nichols had the hot bat with 3 hits including 2 doubles. Keagen Jirschele had a double and triple. Mosinee improves to 15-2 on the season and 10-1 in conference.

The Indians travel to Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton on Wednesday against Wautoma in a non conference match up. Game time approximately at 3:30. Come watch the team play where the state tournament is held.
