Methodology
A total of three factors were used to compile the index:
- Instagram Followers (Weight: 50%): Data sourced from players’ official Instagram accounts.
- Number of Web Pages with Mentions (Weight: 25%): Sourced from Ahrefs, focusing on web pages mentioning the athlete in the past 12 months.
- Average Monthly Search Volume (Weight: 25%): Global search volume sourced from Google Keyword Planner, including variations of players’ names and related terms.
Data was cleaned, standardized on a scale from 0 to 10, and weighted according to importance. The combined scores produced an overall index out of 100 for each player.
