OnFocus – Say cheese! It’s National Cheese Curd day and Nasonville Dairy is celebrating.

“National Cheese Curd day was originally started by Culver’s in 2015,” said Brenda Hansen. “Craig Culver has been an immense supporter of Wisconsin Cheese and National Cheese Curd Day is an awesome thing that’s come together.”

Today, staff at Nasonville are sporting custom “Curd Nerd” shirts designed and printed locally by Premier Printing, as well as sponsoring giveaways and more at their Highway 10 location.

“We thought of the ‘Curd Nerd’ shirts and thought it was a fun thing to boost morale, just make it a fun day. It kind of blossomed from there,” said Amanda Heiman, adding that the company is dedicated to supporting local business especially during these challenging times.

“We are smack dab in the middle of America’s Dairyland and we are so fortunate to say ‘buy local’ because we are able to buy local,” added Hansen, explaining that more than 180 local farms supply the milk for Nasonville Dairy’s cheese – 160,000 pounds made daily!

“It’s such a blessing to be able to know that we are supporting them and they can come into the store and say ‘This cheese was made with my milk’,” she said. “Just being right here in the middle of God’s country, we have a good solid quality milk foundation that we can turn around and make into these lovely cheese curds that we all inhale.”

Nasonville Dairy was founded in 1885, making it the oldest cheese plant in Wood County. After more than 130 years of perfecting recipes and processes, they know the ins and outs of the cheesemaking industry, with the goal to maximize efficiency and quality for their customers.

Today, Nasonville features the talents of 17 licensed cheesemakers, including three Master Cheesemakers®: Ken Heiman, Tom Torkelson, and Brian Jackson. Their mission is to provide the highest quality products to their customers. Nasonville Dairy is known for unique flavors like the flaming hot Carolina Reaper and meltable Blue Marble Jack™, but is proud to maintain their time-honored recipes for the classics, too.

Along with goodies from Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin, this National Cheese Curd Day Nasonville is also giving away other prizes – including a grand prize “Colossal Curd Gift Box” featuring every flavor curd that Nasonville makes and a Curd Nerd shirt.

To participate and enter to win, visit Nasonville Dairy until 5:00pm today, at 10898 HWY 10, Marshfield.
