The National Federation of High Schools is celebrating the landmark Title IX decision, which gave equal rights to athletic access, prohibiting sex-based discrimination in any school or other education program that receives federal money.
To celebrate the landmark decision and recognize changes that have resulted, the NFHS has created a page dedicated to showcasing key moments in history connected with Title IX.

• Female executive directors are hired in Wisconsin and New Jersey. Stephanie Hauser becomes the first female to lead the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association, while Colleen Maguire is the first to lead the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association.
• California Interscholastic Federation held its first State/Regional Girls Championship in softball.
