MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield, WI, an official Wreaths Across America (WAA) location, will host a wreath-laying ceremony, joining more than 3,700 other locations across the country for National Wreaths Across America Day.
Coordinated and led by local volunteers, sponsorship groups have raised funds throughout the year to sponsor the placement of 530 veterans’ wreaths on the headstones of our fallen service members laid to rest there. Over 200 volunteers will be present to place the wreaths. This annual event seeks to further the year-long mission to Remember, Honor, Teach, ensuring that the memory of those who served our country endures.
On Saturday, December 16, 2023, a police escort of American Legion officials and the tractor/trailer carrying the wreaths will arrive at Hillside Cemetery at approximately 9:10 a.m. The Ceremony begins at 10:00 a.m. with wreath laying immediately following.
