MARSHFIELD – After three scoreless innings, both the Neillsville/Granton and Marshfield Columbus Catholic offenses exploded over the final four frames, with the Warriors coming out on top with a 10-8 win in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball game Tuesday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.
Neillsville/Granton (4-4 overall, 4-3 Cloverbelt East) scored four times in both the fifth and six innings to forge ahead and held off the Dons (4-2 overall and Cloverbelt East), blanking Columbus in the seventh.
Brooke Neider had three hits, and Annika Brown had two singles and three RBIs for the Dons.
Catrina Craig was the winning pitcher for the Warriors, striking out seven.
The two teams will meet again Thursday at Neillsville.
