MARSHFIELD – Neillsville pulled away late to beat Marshfield Columbus Catholic 43-30 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Monday night at Columbus Catholic High School.
The Dons trailed 21-11 at halftime, but closed to within three late before Neillsville pulled away.
Neillsville made eight of 13 free throws in the second half to hold on.
Columbus Catholic made just nine baskets, but five were 3-pointers. Maren Seefluth had 10 points for the Dons (11-9, 7-8 Cloverbelt Conference East Division).
Samantha Cappadora led Neillsville (17-3, 12-3 Cloverbelt East) with 11 points.
Columbus Catholic are scheduled to play at Owen-Withee and Neillsville is at Spencer on Tuesday, weather pending.
