Neillsville Police Arrest Suspect in Saturday Stabbing Incident on Grand Avenue

NEILLSVILLE, WI – On Saturday, December 7, 2024, at approximately 2:37 p.m., Neillsville Police officers were dispatched to an address in the 20 block of Grand Avenue to investigate a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with a 34-year-old resident of Neillsville who had been involved in a disturbance and had sustained stab wounds from a kitchen knife. The police provided medical assistance to the victim until the Neillsville Municipal Ambulance Service arrived on the scene.

The ambulance transported the 34-year-old to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Later, police identified CEDRIC J. RIGGINS as the suspect in the stabbing. At approximately 4:30 p.m., Mr. Riggins was taken into custody without incident by police in Neillsville.

Mr. Riggins was booked into the Clark County Jail on charges of Substantial Battery and Disorderly Conduct.

The Neillsville Police Department extends its gratitude to the sheriff’s deputies of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division and the local Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Warden, who assisted with the investigation and Mr. Riggins’s arrest.
