Nekoosa Football’s Nash Krcmar Voted OnFocus Athlete of the Week, August 25 – August 31
Voters came out in big numbers to strongly support top performers in the area, and when the dust settles, it was Nekoosa Football’s Nash Krcmar taking the honor of OnFocus Athlete of the Week, August 25 – August 31, with 309 votes.
Second place went to Sam Ersland of Wisconsin Dells Football with 201 votes. In third place was Jack Hoeper of Spencer/Columbus Football with 155 votes.
OnFocus Athlete of the Week, August 25 – August 31
- Jensen Rice, Iola-Scandinavia Football – Rice ran for 294 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead I-Scan to a 46-29 win over Weyauwega-Fremont. Iola-Scandinavia improved to 2-0 on the season.
- Nash Krcmar, Nekoosa Football – With the game tied at 14 and just seconds remaining, Krcmar stepped up and picked off a pass and returned it 99 yards for a touchdown, leading Nekoosa to a 20-14 Win over Westfield. The win moves the Papermakers to 2-0 on the season. See the video HERE
- Sam Ersland, Wisconsin Dells Football – Ersland showed why he is one of top running backs in the state with his 285 rushing yards on 35 carries and three touchdown for Wisconsin Dells in their 33-26 win over River Valley.
- Lillian L’Esperance, Antigo Girls Cross Country – L’Esperance took the title at the Rhinelander Cross Country Invite last week, leading the Red Robins to a 5th place finish.
- Jack Hoeper, Spencer/Columbus Football – Hoeper picked up three touchdowns, the third in the closing seconds, to lead S/C to a 28-22 win over Pittsville. After Pittsville claimed a 22-20 lead with under two minutes left, the Rockets fought back and took the lead on Hoeper’s 7 yard score.
