The Coulee Conference opened up conference play on Monday, Aug. 23rd at the Ettrick Golf Club, hosted by Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau. Only four of the Coulee schools had enough golfers to compete as teams and perennial favorites Arcadia and G-E-T were on top of the leaderboard with ties of 195 for each team. Black River Falls finished in 3rd with 207 and Nekoosa in 4th with 313. Westby/Viroqua and Cochrane-Fountain City were incomplete scores. The medalist was Hallie Tulip (Arcadia) with a 41. Nekoosa Golfers finished: Lilly-Jo Stojak tie-16th with a 60, Aireeona Ruppert 19th with a 74, Mikayla Korslin 20th with an 87, and Kendall Roy 21st with a 92.
The 2nd match of the season was on Wednesday, Aug. 25th at Viroqua Hills Golf Course, hosted by Westby/Viroqua. The long and hilly course was tough on the girls in the heat and scores reflected it as Arcadia placed 1st with a team score of 195, Black River Falls in 2nd with 217, G-E-T in 3rd with 218, and Nekoosa was Incomplete due to a golfer being unable to finish her round due to injury. Hallie Tulip (Arcadia) was once again Medalist with a 41. Lilly-Jo once again led the Lady Papermakers with a 61 and a tie for 15th, Aireeona and Mikayla each carded a 72 and tied for 20th.
