NEKOOSA, WI (OnFocus) – The Nekoosa High School varsity volleyball team is once again helping local cancer patients through its annual Pink Night fundraiser.
“Our fundraiser was paused for a year due to COVID-19, but the team was determined to bring it back,” said Coach Ray Gutowski. “Cancer touches so many of us within our own volleyball family, friends, and neighbors; and this is our chance to help make a difference.”
Those attending the team’s Pink Night game had the opportunity to purchase pink ribbons to sign and hang on the gym wall. In addition, tickets were sold for a chance to win the pink volleyball used during the varsity match. To participate next year, watch for the 2022-23 game schedule to be posted on the Nekoosa Volleyball Facebook page.
Each team member strives to be that player other girls look up to. Giving to the Aspirus Riverview Foundation’s Cancer Patient Fund is just one example of how they rise by lifting others. Our community is fortunate to have a team of “aces” rallying for them.
