New Candidates on Ballot for Alderman, Mayor

As of 1/2/18, the City of Marshfield officially has three candidates for Mayor. Bob McManus, Rebecca Spiros, and Thomas Witzel all turned in the 200 signatures required for nomination. The city will hold a Spring Primary on February 20th to narrow the candidacy pool down to two.

Five districts are up for election in the 2018 spring election: districts 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.

As of Tuesday, all incumbents have filed papers running for reelection, with the exception of longtime District 5 Alderman Ed Wagner. Wagner filed non-candidacy forms on 12/18/17. Steve Mac Swain has filed papers to run for the District 5 seat. Mayor Chris Meyer also filed non-candidacy forms in late November.

The Spring Election is April 3rd, Districts 7 will be the only contested race. David Peterson of 1603 S. Washington Ave filed papers to run against Alderman Jason Zaleski.

Any citizen of Marshfield had until January 2nd at 5:00 pm to file nomination papers, declaration of candidacy, and campaign registration statement for the Spring Election.
