New Finance Director Hired for City of Marshfield

Ron Aumann to Serve as City of Marshfield Finance Director

Ron Aumann has been hired as the Finance Director with the City of Marshfield, filling the role left vacant after former director Keith Strey resigned.

According to the job description distributed by the City, the Finance Director position is required to perform the State of WI statutory duties & responsibilities of both Comptroller and Treasurer for the City and the most important impact of this position on the organization overall is financial management for the City.

Most recently, Ron had been employed with Marshfield Clinic as the Director of Internal Audit. Prior to this position, Ron was a Senior Accountant and a Financial Analyst with the Marshfield Clinic. Ron was also employed as a Cost Accountant with Phillips Plastics and as an External Auditor (for various cities, counties, school districts, and Native American Nations in Wisconsin).

Ron holds an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, and a Certified Fraud Examiner. In addition, he is an Adjunct College Professor where he has taught Cost Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Financial Reporting and Analysis, Business Statistics and an Exam Review Course for the Certified Management Accountant credential.

In his new role, Aumann will be greatly involved in the 5-year financial plan process (deadline for consultant proposals is June 15th), along with updating the City’s debt management policies.

“Although we had other strong candidates, we believe that Ron’s background makes him well suited for this position, and we are excited to have him on board with the City of Marshfield,” said Steve Barg, City Administrator.

Aumann will be reporting to Barg and his first day with the City is today, Monday, June 4, 2018.
