Kayla Wolf to Replace Retiring Officer Dan Leonard

A new face is joining Marshfield Police Department in the position of Ordinance Officer. Kayla Wolf will replace retiring Officer Dan Leonard.

Kayla Wolf

No stranger to animal care, Wolf was formerly the Animal Care Coordinator at Marshfield Area Pet Shelter and became interested in the Ordinance position back in 2015. “I have always loved animals and I can’t stand to see them mistreated,” said Wolf. “I knew then that I wanted to become a humane officer to help give those animals in need a voice, and get them out of the bad situation they are in.”

The duties of the Ordinance Officer includes picking up stray pets and wild animals, enforcing City ordinances like parking violations, and attending to barking dog complaints.

As a state certified human officer and former auxiliary officer, Wolf brings plenty of experience to help her in the new position. “I have experience working with animals and many years of customer service,” she said. “I was also an auxiliary officer at the Marshfield Police Department for a year. That gave me experience working with my fellow officers and a chance to help out the community.”

As the new Ordinance Officer, Wolf is looking forward to making a difference. “I am looking forward to helping the animals in need in the area,” said Wolf. “I am also looking forward to working with the public and educating them on the local ordinances and state laws.”

Wolf will start her official duties May 29.
