The Lady Cards had a slow start Tuesday night taking on Marathon. The setter #11 and middle #4 each brought challenges we’ve seen before but couldn’t overcome in sets 1 and 2. We fought to close the gap and made notable progress, but the deficit was too large. But the girls’ resilience and determination to fight their way out from an underdog position launched them into set 3 taking the win 25-9. With that momentum, we came out confident in set 4. Annika Svennes activated her “killer instinct” and landed 8 kills for the Cards, helping keep the score neck and neck throughout. Unfortunately, with one too many unforced errors, Newman dropped the set and the match 23-25.
Thanks to Newman Assistant Coach Ashley Lange for the match recap
