MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The Marshfield Area Baseball and Softball Hall of Fame (MABASH) is proud to be inducting 9 new members into its Class of 2023.
This class is headed by Richard “Dick” Zank a 1965 graduate of Neillsville High School and 4 year member of the Cleveland Indians baseball organization. Zank will be joined by mutiple time state championship coach from Athens High School, William “Bill” Coker. Auburndale twin sisters, Jayne (Kolstad) Heeg and Joan (Kolstad) Genz, have been selected as the High School Girls Fast Pitch recipients. They will be joining long time Auburndale Amateur Baseball standout Mike Kiefer.
Fast-pitch and slow-pitch standout Kevin Leick of Stratford, and Gordon “Gordie” Adler, an enduring promotor of all area softball and baseball programs, have also been chosen for induction. To round out this year’s outstanding group of inductees, is Neillsville Sportscaster, WCCN’s Larry Hoeser, and Doug Zaleski, the longtime New Herald sports journalist, and collegiate sports analyst and commentator.
The induction ceremony will be held at the Marshfield Eagles Club, August 19th and tickets will be available at multiple locations beginning July 1st.
