Wild Allowed to Keep Current Animals

A Marshfield man who threw a litter of puppies in a dumpster in February will be allowed to keep his current animals, but is not allowed to own, possess, or train any additional animals for 5 years, according to a court decision Friday.

Robert Wild plead no contest to a misdemeanor charge of intentionally abandoning animals on Sept. 6 and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with Huber work release along with 1-year probation. A second charge of Intentionally Mistreat Animals was dismissed.

A restitution hearing will be held November 7 for a potential payment of $5,018.95 to Marshfield Area Pet Shelter, which fostered the litter of newborn puppies after they were discovered by a passing salesman.
