Owners Excited for Improved Highway, Eager to Encourage Visitors
Marshfield, WI (OnFocus) As north Central Ave (HWY 97) gets a much-needed face lift, local businesses along the construction route are reminding residents and visitors that their doors are still open.
“The construction has lowered sales already, but we expect more of a decline with the intersection now being totally closed,” said Kelly Weiler, owner of Weiler Convenience Store at 600 N Central Avenue.
Currently, the middle lanes of the highway are being worked upon with traffic being limited to the outer two lanes and the intersection and several normal turn opportunities temporarily unavailable.
Access to the convenience store and other businesses is available through back alleys or side streets, and those driving are encouraged to continue patronizing local establishments despite the construction.
“People should still stop to see our friendly staff, get some great coffee, a carwash, cold beer, or maybe even a winning Mega Millions ticket,” said Weiler. “We want to thank anyone who does make the effort to still visit us – remember the back alleys are still open.”
Construction will continue through August.
