Possession started early and five minutes in and Guilherme Amirez Fonseca played a give and go and Cody Vojta taped it back and Gui tapped it past an outstretched keeper. We would continue to put the pressure on and had a couple of the crossbar and post but could not find the back of the net. The only threat Washburn had was late in the half when we gave their forward too much space he made and inside cut and got a good look at the net hitting it off the post. Score at half was 1-0. During half the boys had a lack of energy and we had to get them to see the importance of a regional opponent as it has huge implications for seeding in the playoffs. Less than two minutes in the half Cody made a crossing run driving the goal line slotting the ball to the pk area and Sam Schrock was driving the net taking the deflection in the back of the net. The ball would remain on Washburns half for most of the half and the third goal came in the 64 minute when Tyler Vojta played a nice angled ball and it was a race between Cody Vojta and the keeper and a pendulum move by Cody killed the keeper and he tapped it in the back of the net. At this point we emptied the bench and still did a great job controlling possession and taking out a hardworking Washburn team.
