Northland Pines Boys Handle Mosinee
We challenged the boys tonight to play on to two touch and to play like they are capable of playing. :25 seconds into the game Cody Vojta sent a ball on the box and a failed clear found the feet of Junior midfielder Guilherme Amirez Fonsesa two moves and a left footed ball in the back of the net Four minutes later sophomore Tyler Vojta found Senior brother Cody Vojta with a 1-0 pass in the back of the net. Just over the minute later Guilherme played a perfectly weighted ball to Cody Vojta. Cody turned unselfish and found teammate and senior Captain Gaetano turned on the burners crashing the net beating the keeper to the ball and 14 minutes into the game Pines had a strangle hold on the game. Substitutions happened but the chemistry stayed strong when Sophomore Sweeper found the target man on a long ball and found Cody outrace their back and securing a hat trick and four points game. Three minutes later sophomore Sam Schrock crossed the ball and Sophomore Jackson Olejniczak took the eyes away from the keeper on a crash and tallied his first varsity goal. The boys keeper the foot on the gas with multiple opportunities but the half would end 6-0 Pines. We ran the starters 5 minutes into the second half to continue the chemistry and then emptied the bench giving them a much deserved rest. This allowed Mosinee to gain possession and made some runs at goal and scoring their lone goal in the 58th minute . After that goal some of the younger boys started getting their feet under them and had a number of offensive threats but the game would end 6-1. Hats off to Mosinee as they work hard and have some talented players. Tonight the Pines boys we locked in and executed the game plan. Proud of how they responded to their play in the second half Monday.
