The game started much differently than Tuesdays night game. We stole the ball ad Medford started with the kickoff and possessed the ball with a number of through balls and crosses entering Medford’s 18 but much like last year we struggled to find the back of the net. Finally, almost 20 minutes into the game Senior Captain Anthony Gaetano found Senior Captain Cody Vojta on an angled run fonding the back of the net. In the 34 the minute sophomore took a pass from sophomore sweeper quickly picked his head up and again Cody Vojta found the end of a cross through the middle and Cody made the goal look easy putting Pines up 2-0 and they carried the dreaded 2 goal lead into half. About 13 minutes into half sophomore Sam Schrock pressured their defender like a dog on a squirrel picking the defenders pocket just right of the pk area and with composure placing a hard past just inside the far corner putting Pines up 3-0. This allowed us to get some minutes for our young player who held their own against a hardworking Medford team. Hats off to Medford’s team they always work their tails off.
