Northland Pines Girls Slip Past Medford

Varsity Pines 1 Medford 0

JV Pines 2 Medford 0
I think the girls had a bit of a sour taste in their mouth the way the last game in Medford unfolded.  We felt like we let one slip through our finger tips and were hungry for redemption.  The Pines girls start the game with the kick of and took advantage of the possession. Attacking time and time again and 6 minutes the ball was played back and across to sophomore Ryyn Darr who to a touch from left to right ripping the ball in the top right corner of the net. Pines up 1-0 early.   I really think we controlled possession and were executing some of the items we have been working on.  We switched the field multiple times and drove the ball wide to the goal line putting the ball across the goal mouth more times than I can count.  Our girls connected with give and goes in the midfield and defensively we did not allow them to have the ball very long.  We only had a few moments when fatigue may have set in and we would get unorganized defensively allowing them a couple opportunities,.  The girls quickly corrected and really played for one another. We do have to start producing more offense and it starts with better times runs.  We are getting the ball in the box a great deal but squandered goal opportunities because we are too anxious to run into the box.  This will come and we work on it a great deal so I am confident we will see the scoring. Tonight was parents night for the Northland Pines Girls soccer team and there is no better way to thank their parents than a GNC rivalry victory!  Thank you Northland Pines Parents for all you have done for our girls!
