It seems that we are in the movie ground hog day. Wake up and see the same results. Start of the game dominating possession and play. A couple early opportunities that were unlucky bounces in Three Lakes favor. I’m the 16th minute Carson Adomovich finds a beautiful corner from AJ Muench for our first goal. Three minutes later Jackson Olejniczak battled back on a lost ball to win it back playing a perfect through ball and Mason Jahnke race to the ball and tapped it behind a charging Three Lakes keeper 2-0. It seemed like we were rolling and had complete control of the game, but like many games this season we get down right lazy and think we are good enough to sit back and let things happened and that is what happens. Three Lakes drives down a ball is misplayed and a lazy mark leaves a guy open to clean up the garbage. Hats of to Three Lakes they could have quit and hung up their hats but they battled and stuck to their plan. This goal seemed to be a game changer. Pines boys stopped what was working and tried once again to do things their way and the results showed. We go into half 1-2 in a game that should have been 5-0 at that point.
I said if we do not outwork them in the second half and score the next one they are a gritty enough team and will steal this game. They did not listen at half about the adjustments and Three Lakes capitalized. 15 minutes in they score to tie the games when our much larger keep had the opportunity to play the ball but hesitated and as a result allowed a show Three Lakes player who wanted it more flick it out of Mylos reach for a goal. We battled back and one of a couple players RJ Martial who worked hard to earn a PK in the Box in which Cody Vojts played a low hard shot in the right low corner. Three Lakes forth goal was score when we once again cleared a ball up the middle and they shot it back and it deflected and change direction into the back of the net. It frustrates me to see our team then turn on the gas and attack, when we are down late in the game. A booted ball found their speedy talented forward who worked his way in the right part of the 18 drawing a foul and finishing the PK and sealing the Three Lakes victory. Bottom line Three Lakes didn’t quit and had more heart than Pines boys tonight. Once again the boys allow yet another team to take the “w” from them.
