Adeline A. Schroeder, 99, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Three Oaks Health Services.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at St. Kilian’s Catholic Church, Blenker, where a visitation will be from 9:30 am until service time. Rev. Murali Anand Rayappan will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Adeline was born on September 27, 1922 in the Town of Day, Marathon County, to Fred A. and Angeline M. (Strupp) Ponshock. She attended St. Andrew’s Parochial School in Rozellville. She was united in marriage to Joseph Schroeder on November 24, 1942 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Rozellville. He died on December 31, 2009.
Adeline and Joe farmed in the Town of Milladore for 35 years until their retirement. They then moved to Blenker.
Throughout the years Adeline was a caregiver to relatives in her home. She was sacristan and cleaned at St. Kilian’s Church and was very active in church functions. She was a member and former president of the former Altar Society and later the Parish Council of Catholic Women of which she served as president. Adeline enjoyed baking, crocheting, cross stitch and quilting. She always had at least three different kinds of cookies on the table.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew and his wife, Russell and Erma Ponshock.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Clarence Ponshock and a sister Geraldine Krause.
