Allen O. Sternitzky, 74, Marshfield, formerly Granton, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 at his home after a 27 year battle with Parkinson’s.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church in Granton with Rev. Dan Schoessow officiating. The service will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Granton, where military rites will be conducted.

Visitation will take place from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Saturday, May 14 at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield and from 2:00 pm until service time on Sunday at the church.
Allen was born on June 14, 1947 in Marshfield on Oscar and Gladys (Porath) Sternitzky. He graduated from Granton High School and then served in the United States Army. He married Virginia Basas in August of 1968. They later divorced. He was then united in marriage to Emelda Ruiz on February 28, 1999.

Allen helped his parents farm until 1981. He then took over the farm and worked with his son, Allen Jr. until 1990. Allen enjoyed feeding the birds, making bird houses, lawn work, trips to the casino and buying SuperCash lottery tickets. He also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Allen read the Bible every day and went to church every Sunday.

He is survived by his wife, Emelda, and son, Allen Sternitzky Jr. (Lynn Haefer) of Marshfield. He is further survived by his siblings, Elaine Duerr of Marshfield, Harlin Sternitzky of Granton, and Janice Schiller of Granton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Evelyn Binder.
