Alois R. Wilhelm, Jr., 83, Marshfield, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at House of the Dove in Marshfield.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where visitation will be from 12:00 pm until service time. Rev. Keith Kitzhaber will officiate. The service will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Burial will follow at St. Andrew’s Cemetery in Rozellville.
Alois was born on February 13, 1939 in Rozellville to Alois and Agnes (Brock) Wilhelm. He served in the United States Army and National Guard as a cook and rifleman, receiving medals for sharpshooting. He married Jean Haupt on September 12, 1970. They later divorced. He worked at Weyerhaeuser 34 years.
Alois loved watching WWII and James Bond movies, Old Westerns, and Tom & Jerry cartoons. He also loved going for walks, quiet time at the park, and playing games, especially Yahtzee and Trouble. He was often referred to as the “Yahtzee King” because he always was able to get Yahtzees.
He is survived by his daughter Debra (Eric) Wilhelm-Riedel of Chili, and grandchildren Christina Mazzuca of Chili, Stephanie Riedel of Marshfield, and Austin Riedel of Wisconsin Rapids. He is further survived by his sisters Marie (Leon) Schneider of Marshfield, Joyce (Dave) Haag of DeForest and Shirley (Jim) Reel of Wausau. He will also be missed by his 5 fur baby companions.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Raymond, Richard, Vincent, Norman, Sylvester, and Eugene Wilhelm.
