Arlene C. Pfahning, 93, Stratford, passed away from this world and joined her husband in heaven on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Marshfield Medical Center.

Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield, where, per Arlene’s wishes, private family graveside committal services will be held. Rev. Hyeok Won Kwon will officiate.

Arlene was born on June 27, 1928, in Marshfield to George and Katherine (Zintel) Fischer and was a 1946 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School.

She was united in marriage to Floyd W. Pfahning on September 3, 1949, at Zion Evangelical Church, Marshfield. He died on April 24, 2003, and she missed him immensely and was lost without him.

In addition to being a devoted housewife and mother, Arlene was employed as office manager at Equity Livestock Sales in Stratford for 25 years. Arlene loved to read, and she and her husband enjoyed traveling and camping.

She is survived by two sons, David (Anjie) Pfahning of Madison and Jim (Vicki) Pfahning of Stratford. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Lisa (Tim) Adams and Laura (Kevin) Schulz, and four great-grandchildren, Katie and Nick Adams and Kayden and Kailei Schulz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, and one sister.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Zion United Methodist Church, Marshfield, or Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library.
