Arlene Mary Grewohl (96) was called home to be with her Lord & Savior on April 8th, 2025. She was born Jan. 31, 1929 to Henry & Della (Wagner) Dinse in Pittsville, WI. She was raised as an only child on the family farm, where she attended East Rock Grade School, Pittsville and Marshfield Senior High Schools. She met the love of her life, Donald Grewohl at South Parkway grocery and they were married Jan. 25th, 1964. They were inseparable, working at South Parkway til it closed and transferring to Karau’s IGA where he stocked shelves and she was a cashier until they retired.
Arlene enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening and spoiling her many pets over the years, which they regarded as their children. She was a member of the Sacred Heart PCCW and Al-Anon. Don was active in Alcoholics Anonymous and together they lived the AA Mantra Serenity Prayer.
Arlene is survived by a cousin, Rita Wisneski and a special niece, Mary Hoverstein. Her most recent pets were her kitties, Panda & Lady and her Shi Tzu, pup, Cookie. Her current Fur Baby, Whiskers, was adopted out to a close friend. Since Don’s death, Arlene was maintained in her home by an awesome group of friends, neighbors and church ladies, known as “Arlene”s Angels.” We are so thankful for all they did to help her remain in her home as long as she could. Grateful appreciation to all of her other supports including, Synergy Home Healthcare, Marshfield Senior Services, Serenity Living, Colonial Nursing & Rehab Center, North Haven Assisted Living, Lakeland Cares, Compassus Hospice and Marshfield Clinic.
Rembs Funeral Home is handling her funeral arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday, April 17th at 10:00 am with a Rosary at 10:30 am followed by a Catholic Memorial Service at 11:00 am officiated by Deacon Ray Draeger. Pallbearers will be Ed Arendt, Wayne Adams, Robert Glapinski, & Tom Zeiman. Burial will occur at Gate of Heaven Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the Rembs Celebration Center.
