Bernadine “Bernie” M. (Tryba) Wojtalewicz, 73, Junction City, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 25, 2024 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Junction City with visitation from 9:00 am until the time of service. Father Packi will officiate. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Martens/Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Bernie was born on July 12, 1950 in Rosholt to Edwin and Irene (Firkus) Tryba. She graduated from PJ Jacobs. She married Cliff Wojtalewicz on February 10, 1968 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Junction City. Bernie worked at St. Joseph’s Convent and River Pines in Stevens Point. She then waitressed at Cozy Kitchen in Stevens Point for many years.
Bernie enjoyed going to the casino, shopping online, camping with grandkids, puzzles, word searches, planting flowers, and watching her grandkids play sports. She loved her grandchildren and her great grandchildren meant the world to her. She was also a fabulous cook. In her younger years, Bernie played softball and she enjoyed working on the farm.
She is survived by her husband, Cliff, children, Todd Wojtalewicz of Junction City, Tammy (Troy) Kawleski of Appleton, Cyle Wojtalewicz of Junction City, and Carie (Ben) Zimmermann of Junction City, grandchildren, Nicole (Shannon) Volkman of Shiocton, Kelsey Vande Hei (Anthony) of Hortonville, Kendal (Jeren) Geise of Stevens Point, Dakota (Corissa) Zimmermann of Milladore, Austin (Jacie) Kolodziej of Weston, Jordan (Elaina) Wojtalewicz of Wausau, and Pearson Zimmermann of Junction City, great grandchildren, Brady, Holdyn, Masyn, Eastyn “Gooby,” Brinley, Brantley, Braisley, Owen, Sadie, Adahlei, Monte, Willa, Beau, Drezden, and one great grandson on the way, Hudson. She is further survived by two sisters, Joan Tryba of Stevens Point and Joyce (Kurt) Rajkowski of Rudolph, and four brothers, Ralph (Joanne) Tryba of Marshfield, LeRoy (Belva) Tryba of Junction City, Joseph (Gail) Tryba of Junction City and James (Carrie) Tryba of Freedom, WI, and sisters-in-law, Elaine Seavers of Junction City and Lori Fisher of Stevens Point.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Chet Tryba, and sister, Nancy Rita Grezenski.
