Bernice C. “Bea” Marohl

Bernice C. “Bea” Marohl, age 79, Stratford, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023, surrounded by her family at Three Oaks Health Services, Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 pm on FridaySeptember 8, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stratford, where the visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time. Rev. Sengole Vethanayagam will officiate. The Stratford V.F.W. Auxiliary will conduct a brief service before the funeral. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County. Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Bea was born on February 27, 1944, in Marinette, WI to Roy and Lorraine (Wyss) Kane and was a 1962 graduate of Peshtigo High School. She also was a graduate of Marinette Teachers College. After her education she became a First-Grade teacher at Stratford Elementary School where she met her husband, Walter J. Marohl and they married on July 2, 1966. In addition to raising her family, Bea had a passion for caring for others and later became a Certified Nursing Assistant for several years. She went on to Midstate Technical College where she obtained a nursing degree in 1993. In 1998 she and her husband began Northside Elder Estates, a community based residential facility in Stratford, which they owned and operated until their retirement in 2016.

Bea was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish Council of Catholic Women, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, served as Stratford ambulance director, and was honored as EMT of the year for Marathon County and for the Stratford Fire Department. She enjoyed crocheting and her pride and joy was her grandson, Benjamin. Bea had a personality like no other and because of her caring nature she would “give anyone the shirt off her back”.

She is survived by her husband, Wally and their children, Kyle Marohl (Kyla Brumley) of Sheboygan and Kristin Schar (Joel Kaiser) of Stratford. She is also survived by her grandson, Benjamin Schar and a sister, Joyce (Wayne) Caebe and a brother, Bill (Kathy) Kane, all of Peshtigo, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Kent on December 15, 2006.
