Obituary for Betty Severt

Elizabeth “Betty” J. Severt, age 76, Hewitt, went to her heavenly home to be with her husband Bill on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. Their love was so strong they could not be kept apart.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Hewitt, with Rev. Murali Anand Rayappan and Rev. Barry Saylor officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, and on Saturday from 10:00 am until service time at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

Betty was born on September 9, 1947 in Marshfield to William and Myrtle (Tremmel) Weis. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1965. Betty then attended beauty school in Milwaukee and later received her CNA license. She married William “Bill” M. Severt on September 28, 1968, in Fort Campbell, KY.

Betty worked at the family restaurant, Severt’s Fine Foods, with her husband where she was a waitress but was best known as “THE BOSS.”

She was a loving mother who always put her three daughters first and dedicated grandma who loved attending her grandkids’ games and events. She enjoyed camping, reading, puzzles, sewing, DONUTS, and sweets with a lot of frosting. She was also a member of the St. Michael’s Catholic Church choir.

She is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Dennis) Schneider, Kris (Mark) Tesmer, and Janelle (Ben) Rucker, all of Marshfield. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Michaela (Conrad) Wood, Dylan (Aubrey) Larsen, Derrick, Madilynn and Makenzie Tesmer, and Caleb, Nathan, and Hailey Rucker and three great grandchildren, Trenton Wood, Harper Wood and Kaden Larsen. She is further survived by siblings, Mary (Karl) Wingert, Jerry (Nancy) Weis, Ruth (Jim) Odau, Tim (Judy) Weis, Dennis (Yonnie) Weis, Rosie (Bob) Carlson, sisters-in-law, Carol Weis and Kathy Honeywell, brother-in-law, Verlyn Herman, and special cousin, Marge (Terry) Rohland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Ervin Weis, Bev (John) Wingert, Bob Weis, Helen (Bob) Johnson, Carol Jean (Barney) Herman, Jim Weis, and Ted Weis.

A memorial will be designated at a later date.
