On August 29, 2024, the tearful heavens opened over Ashland, Wisconsin to receive Bonnie Lou Skattebo. The heavens were tearful due to earth’s loss of a very special soul.

Bonnie was born with an infectious smile and a more infectious personality. Her motto was “I don’t shake hands, I give hugs.” We have lost one of the best among us.

Her younger years were busy and joyful raising family and Co-managing Charolais Supper Club in Marshfield. Bonnie was a master seamstress, sewing wedding dresses, doing alterations, and was a master creator of doll clothes. Many of which were displayed at craft shows from Marshfield to Ashland. She donated many to children’s units at hospitals and gave many away to young smiling faces. Several of her greatest joys were family gatherings, nurturing her children, and meeting and gathering at the Red Clay Classic.

Survivors include her husband, Keith of Ashland, WI; her children, Paul (Amy) Skattebo of Shell Lake, WI, Dawn (Todd) Schoenher of Stratford, WI, Ryan Skattebo of Chippewa Falls, WI and Travis (Tara) Skattebo of Cadott, WI; son-in-law, Corry Haigh of Marshfield, WI; grandchildren, Cassie, Caitlin, Candace, Westin, Walker, Jett, Wyn, Chessa, Hoyt, Carter, and Coyen; brothers, Richard (Lynn) Vollert, Daniel (Shirley) Vollert, Darrell (Karen) Vollert; sisters, Valarie Friday, Diane (Roger) Scheunemann, Cindy (John) Fay, Karmen (Rick) Bouma, and Karrie (Todd) Pask.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Stacey Haigh, brothers, Don and Billy Vollert, and sisters, Connie Carolfi, and Sharon Vincent.

The price of love is grief, which turns to joy just for having the honor of knowing Bonnie.

A celebration of life will begin at 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm September 9, 2024, at Rembs Celebration Center in Marshfield, WI.
