Caroline Agnes Stini (Buchholtz), 98, (prayers answered) was received into the loving embrace of her dear Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, August 21.  She was born on April 11, 1926, in Marshfield, the daughter of Adolph and Margaret (Meyer) Buchholtz where she resided her entire life.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, August 27 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Marshfield at 10:30AM, Fr. Daniel Thelen, celebrant.  The Knights of Columbus Fr. John Eisen Council #1799 will pray the rosary at 9:00AM with visitation to follow. She will be laid to rest in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. Pallbearers will be Doris Briedl, Daryl Kopp, Daniel Flees, Doug Schnitzler, Crystal Mutschler, and Nikki Grabow.

Caroline attended a country school through 8th grade and then performed live-in housekeeping for area families. On September 25, 1948, she married Joseph Stini at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Marshfield. She was employed by Roddis Plywood and Lumber for eight years and the Elks Club for 26 years as a waitress.  She volunteered at the Samaritan House for 15 years.

Caroline worked tirelessly and was meticulous in all aspects of her life. She found comfort, peace and joy in her cats, especially Buttons (lap cat), and Doris Briedl (niece), her enduring “Samaritan House” friends, Sheila, Grace, Bev, Andrea, and Peg and in preparing meals, especially “no-bake” desserts in her declining years.  She looked forward to her weekly visit with Dan and the opportunity to look at the pictures of her “adopted piglets” aka grandchildren and attending the Senior Community Dinners with her can of peas in hand. Caroline graced many lives across many years with her contagious smile and endless stories about life – the hard times without a complaint and the joyful times which carried her through.  Life’s lessons were passed on if only you took time to listen – no need to speak – just listen. She lived her life filled with faith and prayed God would take her home sooner rather than later.

Caroline is survived by her son, David, sister-in-law, Lucinda Kopp (Stini), many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by Joseph (husband), LaVern (son), Marie Bucholtz and Anna Mae (Roman) Andres (sisters), Adolph & Margaret Bucholtz (parents), and Joseph & Mary Stini, Sr. (father/mother-in-law), and brother-in-law & sisters-in-law.

Thank you to the staff at Safe Haven for Seniors for the compassion and care you showed Caroline; Dr. Allyson Mayeux, Dr. Gary Martin, and Penny Vinnedge (Marshfield Clinic); Taiya, Donna, Chaplain Dennis, and Julie (Heartland Hospice), Doug Schnitzler’s watchful eye and yard maintenance, and Fr. Daniel Thelen’s spiritual care.
