Chuck was born on March 16, 1940, in Green Bay, to Harry and Lucille (Germiat) Rentmeester.

He was a 1958 graduate of Premontre High School in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Chuck married his high school sweetheart, Mary Frances Adams on May 11, 1963, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay. They enjoyed 54 years together before Jesus called her home on November 6, 2017.

He served in the US Army, and as a US Army Reservist from 1958 – 1962.

Chuck started his retail career as a management trainee with McCrory-McClellen in 1959 beginning in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He advanced his career by operating stores in Minnesota, Iowa, and Michigan, then returning to Wisconsin in 1977 to be closer to family. In 1991, he and his wife, Mary Frances, opened Rentmeester’s M.C. Variety in Marshfield, Wisconsin. They owned and operated the business until his retirement in 2006. Chuck enjoyed being on the Downtown Business Association Board and took pride in running his greenhouses.

He was a man of great faith. Chuck was an active member of St. John the Baptist church, serving on the parish council and as a counselor for couples preparing for marriage. He joined the Knights of Columbus in 1977 where he held many leadership positions, including Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree. He and Mary Frances forged many lifelong friendships through the KC events.

Chuck treasured and loved his family above anything else. He was always there to lend a helping hand or to offer advice. He was a lifelong Packer fan as well as a Notre Dame fan. Some of his favorite things were playing games with his family, telling a good story, homecooked meals, and spending time on his patio.

He will be greatly missed by his children, Mary Ann (James) Hove of Appleton, Renee (Joseph) Bokota of Wisconsin Dells, and Thomas (Lori) Rentmeester of Marshfield. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Lauren (Eric) Balza, Becca (Chad) Coffen, Mitchell (fiancé – Lydia) Hove, Joseph Bokota, Elizabeth and Christina Rentmeester and four great grandchildren, Daniel, Sienna, Elliot, and Mason.

He is further survived by a brother, Jerry (Pat) Rentmeester of Glendale, AZ.
