Clara Ann Hartl, age 87, Auburndale, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, November 17, 2023, at House of the Dove, Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 27, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Auburndale, where the visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time. Rev. Murali Anand Rayappan will officiate. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Burial will be in the parish cemetery at a later date. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Clara was born on August 11, 1936, in Bakerville, to William and Marcella (Schmitt) Reigel. She was united in marriage to Roger T. Hartl on October 2, 1956, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Bakerville. He died on November 7, 2018.
In her younger years Clara had been employed at McCain’s Clothing Store in Marshfield. In her later years she worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital until her retirement.
Clara had many talents, including cooking, baking, and decorating beautiful cakes, and was a seamstress. She enjoyed bowling, shopping, decorating, babysitting, watching high school sports, the Packers, Brewers, Badgers and Bucks, and most of all being with her family. She also played the organ and was the church organist at Corpus Christi Church before her marriage.
She is survived by six daughters, Kim (Gerard) Fuehrer, Karen (Brian) Lang, Karleen (Greg) Weinfurter, Linda (Geno) Brueggen, Pam Hartl, and Peggy (Jon) Empey, all of Auburndale. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren, Tammy (Clint) Otto and their children, Coralyn and Aurelia; Tara (Brad) Grube and their children, Liliana, Jaxon, Madison and Molli; Rick (Chelsea) Fuehrer and their children Vincent and Milena; Kelly (Ryan) Kumm and their children, Julia, Leila and Ella; Leah (Victor) Hernandez and their children, Natalia and Adriana; Stacie (Alec) Rolain and Dillon Lang, Kristen (Jason) Peirce and their children, Charlotte, Nolan, Griffin and Violet; Mindy Plaszcz (Connor Brock) and children, Oliver, Teddy and Josephine; Kayla (Jonny) Schultz and their children, Franklin, Charlie and Evelyn; Stephanie (Phil) VandeWettering and their children, Cecelia and Dexter; Allison (Scott) Hoelzel and their children, Scarlett, Violet and Walter; Carver (Louisa) Empey, and their daughter expected in March, Parker and Keegan Empey. She is further survived by siblings, LaVern Reigel, William (Pat) Reigel, Carol (Ed) Becker, Richard (Tessa) Reigel, and Shirley (Clifford) Hirsch and sisters-in-law, Kathleen, Irene, Kristin, and Diane Reigel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson Nathaniel Empey, brothers, Eugene, Robert, Clifford, Lyle, Gerald, and James Reigel, sisters-in-law, Irma, Joan, Doris, and Johnette Reigel, and a brother-in-law, Bruce Schultz, and parents-in-law, Leonard and Catherine (Hamus) Hartl, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond (Joanne) Hartl and Jeanette (Fritz) Berger.
