Clara Schiller

Clara Schiller, age 90, a resident of the Township of Hansen, died peacefully, surrounded by those she loved on August 21th, 2023 at Marshfield Health Services.

A memorial service for Clara will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pittsville at 11:00 AM with a visitation from 9:00 AM until time of service. The Rev. Gary Markworth officiate.

Clara was born on March 18, 1933, in Wisconsin Rapids to Roy and Stacia (Aron) Trickle. She married her childhood sweetheart and the love of her life, Donald Schiller, on January 20, 1951 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pittsville WI, where they would be active members throughout their long lives together and 72 years of marriage.

Clara lived just outside of Pittsville Wisconsin her entire life. During that time she and her husband were blessed with 6 children, 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Clara worked at many jobs through the years including as a Housekeeper, Babysitter, Cranberry marsh worker, but most of her working years were with the Aprin Dairy Cheese Factory in Arpin Wisconsin.

Clara was a loving Wife and Mother, she kept a beautiful home, and enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking, canning, and gardening.  She sewed clothes for her family and self, even making diapers and doll clothes. Clara also enjoyed camping with friends and family during the summers and gathering for the holidays with her large family of parents, siblings and cousins. At Christmas time she would bake dozens of different cookies and desserts for the family and to give to others. Clara also enjoyed taking the family on Sunday drives and maybe stopping at a rummage or yard sale along the way. But one of her most favorite things was simply taking a walk with her loving husband while they held hands.

Clara is survived by her Husband Donald Schiller, her children Jim Schiller, Pat Adrian, Vicky Arden, Joe Schiller, Dale Schiller, and Pam Caldwell. She is further survived by her sister Marge Trickle, brother David Trickle and her great and great-great grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Ethel, Shirley, Irene, Betty, brothers Leroy, Raymond, Larry, daughter-in-law Kathy and son-in-law Art.

Clara’s family would also like to thank the staff at House of Dove, Marshfield Health Services and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful, attentive, loving care the past couple months.

Burial will be at a later date.
