Clifford Joseph Reigel, age 89, of Marshfield, passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday, June 5, 2023, at Three Oaks Health Services, Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time with Rev. Douglas Robertson officiating.
The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Auburndale, at a later date.
Cliff was born on November 20, 1933, in Marshfield, to William and Marcella (Schmitt) Reigel.
After his honorable discharge from the Army, Cliff married Johnette I. Ledden on August 23, 1958, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Auburndale.
He then began his career as a carpenter. He worked for over 50 years building homes, metal steel buildings and other commercial construction work.
He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Cliff selflessly volunteered his time to his church and community.
Cliff’s hobbies included golfing, traveling, watching the Brewers, gardening, cooking and a continued thirst for knowledge.
He lost his wife and dear love, Johnette, on April 29, 2016 after her battle with Alzheimer’s.
Cliff will be remembered for his willingness to help his neighbors, ingenuity in solving problems, devotion to his family and his smile with the accompanying twinkle in his eye that would brighten anyone’s day.
He is survived by four children, Mary (Jim) Follmer, Thomas Reigel (Annie Eckes), Sara (Shawn) Hansen; all of Marshfield, and Jason (Laura) Reigel of Ellensburg, WA; his seven grandchildren, Ethan Reigel, Logan Reigel (Magen), Alishia Reigel (Hunter Busse), Sophia Reigel, Evan Hansen (Claire Martin), Noah Hansen, Kenzie Hansen and great granddaughter Retallia Reigel. He is also survived by siblings, LaVern Reigel, William (Pat) Reigel, Richard (Tessa) Reigel, Clara Hartl, Carol (Ed) Becker, and Shirley (Clifford) Hirsch; sisters-in-law, Diane Reigel, Kathleen Reigel, Irene Reigel, Kristine Reigel, Betty Thom, Karleen Hendrickson, Sheila Weis, Clarice Karl, Lenore Miller, Angie (Dave Ledbetter); brothers-in-law, Eugene (Diane) Ledden and Pat (Mary) Ledden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brothers, Eugene, Robert, Lyle, Gerald and James; sisters-in-law, Irma Reigel, Doris Reigel, Susan Willfahrt; brothers-in-law, Roger Hartl, Timothy Ledden, Vern Thom, Fred Willfahrt, Ken Weis, Wenzel Karl, Roger Miller and Fritz Hendrickson.
The family of Clifford would also like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at Three Oaks. There are too many of you to name here that cared for Cliff like family. We will always be grateful for your care, compassion and companionship you showed Cliff.
