Danny R. Busche, age 71, Stratford, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his wife, on January 30, 2025.
Danny was born on June 8, 1953, to Norman and Fay (Conaway) Busche and was a 1971 graduate of Stratford High School. He married his beloved Peggy Landwehr in March Rapids on May 2, 1981. For many years, he dedicated himself to the road, working as a semi driver and a Reddi-Mix driver until his well-earned retirement.
Danny embraced life with enthusiasm. He loved riding his motorcycle with Peggy and friends, especially to the annual Tomahawk Fall Ride. He also enjoyed live music, fishing, and spending time with friends. A dedicated Wisconsin sports fan, he enthusiastically supported his teams, particularly the Packers, and relished the rivalry with his Minnesota relatives.
Danny cherished the simple joys in life like his mother’s delicious baking, the time spent hauling milk with his father, and the friendly competition of card games. In recent years, his loyal canine companion, Sadie, held a special place in his heart. Above all, family was the center of Danny’s world. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, a caring brother, and a true friend. His warm smile, quick wit, and kind heart will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Peggy; his daughters, Jessica (Chris) Kuhn of Burnett and Melissa (Jerry) Straley of Mosinee; his cherished grandchildren, Mykayla (Robert), Alexa, Mason, Marcus, Connor, Dakota, Cheyenne, and Spencer (his “Lil’ Buddy”); his brother, Duane Busche of Stratford; and his sister, Bonnie (Mike) Meyers of Marshfield. He is further survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Fay Busche; his in-laws, Glen and Virginia Landwehr; his sister-in-law, Kathy Hauke; and his niece, Lindsey Hauke.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Nikki and Barbie, two exceptional nurses, for their compassionate and dedicated care of Danny.
A celebration of Danny’s life will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Country Aire in Stratford. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a service and meal to follow.
