David Allen Fore, age 69, of Phillips, WI, passed away on January 4, 2025, at the Marshfield Medical Complex with his family by his side.

Beloved son, husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend, David was a man of deep love and unwavering dedication. Born on August 25, 1955, to proud parents Jack Edmund and Mary (Connell) Fore in Dixon, Illinois. David grew up in Amboy, where he graduated from high school. Shortly after, he began a successful career in his trade, retiring after years of hard work and commitment.

David shared a beautiful marriage with his wife, Melody, whom he married on June 30, 1990. Together, they enjoyed 34 wonderful years of marriage, celebrating 36 years of love and partnership. He adored his wife and took immense pride in his family. David loved each of his children equally, supporting them unconditionally, and his grandchildren became the light of his life. Whether on the sidelines of their sports games or cheering on their activities, David was their biggest fan. His family was his world, and he always did whatever was necessary to care for them.

A proud member of Moose Lodge 903 since 1982 and the IBEW union since 1974, David exemplified loyalty and dedication in all areas of his life. Over the years, he participated in several clubs and organizations, reflecting his passion for building connections and contributing to his community.

David had a zest for life and a passion for the outdoors. He could often be found in a tree stand during hunting season, on his Harley exploring the open road, or near a lake with a fishing pole in hand. His love for Notre Dame and the Chicago Bears was unmatched, and in his final days, he enjoyed watching his beloved Notre Dame play and his Amboy High Clippers.

Known for his humor, David had an infectious laugh that lit up every room he entered. He never missed an opportunity to share a joke or a kind word, making him the life of every gathering. His sense of humor, combined with his compassion, grace, and wisdom, made him someone everyone admired.

David cherished his four brothers and two sisters deeply, and though miles often separated them, they remained connected at the roots. He taught invaluable life lessons, embodying the qualities of love, kindness, and generosity. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

David took his first breath on August 25, 1955, and his last on January 4, 2025. He is now reunited with his parents and brother, whom he missed dearly. Free from pain and suffering, he is in the hands of the Lord, likely sharing jokes and spreading laughter. As 2 Corinthians 5:8 reminds us, “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”

He is survived by his wife, Melody; his children Jason (Shannon) Fore of Rochelle, IL, Brian Fore of Phillips, WI, Colleen (Jeff) Overton of Sycamore, IL, Jennifer (Justin) Tarantino of Nashville, TN, and Brian (Dora) Terry of Creston, IL. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jacob, Colvin, Makayla, Logan, Delaney, Timothy, Nathaniel, Hannah, Haley, Jason, Colt, Dylan, and Jacob. Further surviving are his brothers Donald (Sheri) Fore of Dixon, IL, Rick (Sandy) Fore of Wake Forest, NC, Mary Lynn (Tom) Kelly of Cornelius, NC, Jeanne (Alvaro) Ortega of Mendota, IL, and Bob (Kathy) Fore of Clinton, IA. He was predeceased by his parents, Jack E. Fore Sr. and Mary Jane Fore, and his brother Jack (Mirtha) Fore.

Per David’s request, no formal service will be held. Instead, a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date to honor a man who truly lived life to the fullest. His memory will forever inspire those who loved him to embrace life with joy, love, and laughter.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and doctors of the Marshfield Hospital Palliative Care and Oncology Departments. A special thanks to Dr. Chady Leon, MD, for the exceptional care and compassion provided during David’s journey.
