Obituary for David Meyers

David G. Meyers, age 63, of Marshfield, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Marshfield Medical Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield, where a visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time. Private family committal services and burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield, and a luncheon will follow at Rembs Celebration Center, 250 S. Oak Av., Marshfield, and all are welcome. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

David was born on November 21, 1960, in Marshfield, to Victor and Greta (Gripentrog) Meyers. He attended Our Lady of Peace Parochial School, Columbus High School and was a 1979 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. He married Donna A. Jacobson on May 26, 1989, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.

David was employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital which became Marshfield Clinic Health Systems, in Buildings and Grounds for 41 years until the present time.

He enjoyed deer hunting, sporting events, 4-wheeling, trips to Florida, garage parties, bonfires, landscaping and keeping a pristine yard. He especially loved his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, and their children, Kale (Michelle) Kernz, Holly (AJ) Thomson, Jordan Meyers, Joseph (Adilene) Meyers and Jacob Meyers and by eight grandchildren, Jack, Lucy, Tessa, and Ellie Thomson, and Reese, Gabryelle, Jett, and Miley Kernz. He is also survived by his siblings, Vicki Ann Meyers, Michael (Bonnie) Meyers, Mark (Lynn) Meyers, Thomas (Susan) Meyers, and Steven (Susan) Meyers. He is further survived by Donna’s siblings, Kathi (Denny) Ohm, Jeanie (Lawrie) Beaver, David (Dawn) Jacobson, Jimmy (Sue) Jacobson, Allen (Joanne) Jacobson, and Diane (Tim) Schwecke.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family wishes to thank the medical team at Marshfield Clinic Health Systems for the wonderful care they provided and to thank their friends and colleagues for their loving support.
