Delia Catherine Aschenbrenner, age 83, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2023, from Alzheimer’s disease and cancer. She was born September 9, 1939 in Newton Grove, North Carolina to Clifford and Irene Langston. She married her love of 63 years, Richard Aschenbrenner, on July 4, 1959.
Delia was known to always show kindness and love and put everyone first before herself. She rarely sat still, believing hands to work; hearts to God. She also shared her love of Southern food such as her famous North Carolina BBQ and hush puppies.
In her early years, Delia worked in the medical field both in North Carolina and as a Doctor’s Assistant at Marshfield Clinic, which perfectly suited her servant heart. She later began a 25-year career with Consolidated Papers where she earned the role of Head Librarian at their Research and Development Division which she retired as in 1995.
Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, Proverbs 31:31 — “Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”
Delia, the third oldest of 12, preceded in death by her sisters and brothers; Violet Hill, John Langston, Gene Langston, and Wanda Gail Dunn and is survived by her sisters; Glenna Raynor, Judy Dombrowsky, Larry Langston, Josephine Williford, Marilyn Mclamb, Phillip Langston, and Susan Benson; her three children; Mary Alice Sieczka, Scott Aschenbrenner and his wife, Linda, Connie Mayer and her husband, Cory; three grandchildren, James Sieczka, Alexander Hackman, and Nicklaus Mayer. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
