Dick Saindon, 88 years old, passed away early on Monday the 11th of November at Care Partners Assisted Living in Minocqua, WI.
Dick was born on December 24th, 1935, in Marshfield to Rodney and Carol (Trierweiler) Melbinger. One year later, on December 29th, 1936, Dick’s mom died. He was raised by his paternal grandparents, John and Anna Melbinger, for the next 9-10 years. He was raised and later adopted by his aunt and uncle, Miles (Sandy) and Ella (Trierweiler) Saindon.
Dick graduated from Marshfield Sr. High in 1953 and enjoyed being the Quarter Back for the Marshfield Tigers. He also attended U.W. Stevens Point. He began his career in 1955 with Household Finance Corp and worked at various locations in the Midwest.
Dick married the love of his life, Marilyn Biechler, on June 28, 1958. They celebrated their 66 years of marriage this last June 2024 and dated since Junior High School. Their love story was one to remember.
In 1966, he worked at Citizens National Bank in Marshfield as Vice President in Lending, where he enjoyed his position until 1982. He then worked for various lending institutions, which included Citizen’s Bank (Wausau), Baird Financial Group, Bank of Athens, and retiring as President & CEO of Pioneer Bank in 2002. Dick was known for his kind heart and willingness to lend a helping hand, often going above and beyond for his clients.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield. In his spare time, he enjoyed going up north to his cottage in Phillips, WI, where he would spend countless hours fishing, relaxing, and enjoying quality time with his family. After waiting 35 years, he finally became a season ticket holder for the Green Bay Packers, which he really enjoyed going to and watching. He also enjoyed watching the Badgers and the Chicago Cubs, often cheering them on with his family and friends.
