Our precious mother, Dolores M. Czaikowski, 97 of Stevens Point and formerly of Milladore, died peacefully surrounded by family on October 4, 2022, at Stevens Point Care Center. She is reunited in heaven with her husband of fifty-seven years, Joseph Czaikowski.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 14, from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm at Martens/Rembs Funeral Home, Junction City and Saturday at 9:00 am -10:30 am until time of service at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:30 pm at the funeral home on Friday evening. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 am at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church Milladore. The Rev. Gus Bentil will officiate. Her sons will be pallbearers.

Dolores was born May 10, 1925, in Bakerville Wisconsin, the daughter of Ben and Nellie (Steffen) Tasse. She attended Bakerville Catholic School then Saint Rose Convent in La Crosse from 8th grade on for 10 years.  A year after leaving the convent, Dolores met the love of her life Joseph G. Czaikowski. Dolores and Joe were united in marriage on October 29, 1951 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Bakerville, Wisconsin. Dolores and Joe farmed in Milladore from 1951 until 1996, at which time they moved to Stevens Point.

Dolores was a devoted Catholic, dedicating her life to God, family and work. She was a loving and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Mother was most content and happy when she had a baby or young child on her lap and in her arms. Dolores worked tirelessly for her family and others. While raising 10 children and working on the farm, Dolores was a foster parent, served her church through the Women’s Altar Society and taught CCD. She also volunteered at her children’s Elementary school and held various jobs.

Dolores loved spending time with her family. She skillfully played sheepshead with family and friends up until 6 months ago.  The twinkle in her eye and mischievous smile on her face when she “took a trick” was priceless. Dolores enjoyed playing bingo and listening to polka music while attending church picnics with her husband Joe. Mother’s favored past time was sitting quietly in prayer, praying the rosary or watching the Religious channel. She loved God and family constantly.

Dolores is survived by her children, Leonard (Nancy) Czaikowski of Milladore, Ed (MaryBeth) Czaikowski of Milladore, Mary Haas of Wisconsin Rapids, Anne (Richard) Ambroziak of Wisconsin Rapids, Ralph Czaikowski of Neillsville, Ruth Zurn of Morehead City, North Carolina, Mike Czaikowski of Plover, Peter (Loretta) Czaikowski of Stevens Point, and Paul (Denise) Czaikowski of Junction City. Mother’s legacy will live on through her 26 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and another one due in November, as well as 4 great great grandchildren. Dolores is further survived by one sister-in-law Betty Tasse and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph, parents Ben and Nellie, brothers and sisters Fredrick, Edwin, Gregory, Sylvester, Cecilia, Innocence and Cyril, a son Louis, son-in laws Ron Haas and Gary Zurn and a grandson, Chad.

The family would like to thank the staff at Stevens Point Care Center and Compassus Hospice Services for their wonderful care.

“Mom, words cannot express how much our family will miss you, but we know you will be in Heaven with God, where you will be treated like the angel you are”.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church or Compassus Hospice.
