Dolores L. Roth (Kozlowski), February 4, 1930-August 20, 2024. The Lord called her home Tuesday, August 20 in her 94th year. This gentle, loving, caring and wonderful woman has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts. She, alongside her husband and best friend of 70 years, Gerald (Jerry), created a legacy of 10 children, 22 grandchildren, and 38 (soon to be 39) great-grandchildren. She was honored to be the matriarch, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to our large family.

She married Jerry on November 11, 1950, and built a wonderful life. They provided the best childhood for their children by taking them camping, fishing, and snowmobiling – creating cherished memories. Her world revolved around her 10 children. Her house was spotless, her garden flourished, she could make an amazing meal out of nothing, and her kids were dressed to the nines every Sunday for Mass. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren were hers to spoil whether it was making sure they had their favorite treat or her rocking them to sleep with her magic touch.  She was the definition of a perfect mom, not only because she excelled at it but because it is what brought her the most joy in life.

Dolores and Jerry also enjoyed time with their family and friends. They played cards, bowled in leagues, took gambling and fishing trips, and traveled to visit family often. They escaped the cold for several weeks in the winter by spending time with her daughter, Jackie, and her family in Florida. She cherished her dog, Bella, and the time she was able to spend with her at Kathy’s house.  Dolores enjoyed simple things like a cold beer on a hot day or an old-fashioned with dinner. A good day for mom was when the crappies were biting, the quarter machine paid out, or we got the perfect amount of rain for her garden.

We are thankful for all she taught us and that she was sharp until her very last day. Even when her time was running short and her body was weak, a visit from a grandchild or great-grandchild brought a huge smile to her face. Although our minds know her life was rich, and we were blessed with her for 94 years our hearts are broken. As we search for our new normal without her, we pray God will grant us peace in time. Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Dolores joins her loved ones in heaven as she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Roth, parents Frank and Valeria (Stachura) Kozlowski; brother Ray Kozlowski; daughter, Donna Barnes, grandson, Adam Roth, and son-in-law, Dan Blenker. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Zabel; nine of her children, Kathy (Lance) Skibba, Bonnie Blenker, Debbie (Don) Tork, Gary Roth, David (Mary) Roth, Laurie (Jerry) Rosicky, Dan (Sandy) Roth, Jackie (Dean) Zirwas, Nancy (Tim) Mallek; 22 grandchildren, and 38 (soon to be 39) great-grandchildren.

We would like to thank Jodi Strong, DNP CDCES, Christine Bakke, DNP APNP, the CHF Clinic – Marshfield, Dr. Kevin Ferreira of the Aspirus Riverview Wound Clinic, and the staff at Dimensions Living for the care they provided mom.

A visitation will be held Friday, August 23, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm at Martens/Rembs Funeral Home in Junction City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 10:30 am with visitation from 9:00 am to time of service at St. Wenceslaus Parish in Milladore. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations for a Memorial in Dolores and Jerry’s name to St. Wenceslaus Parish are preferred.
