Obituary for Don Pohle

Donald Robert “Don” Pohle II, 57, Chili, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Marshfield Medical Center.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where military rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1866 at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery at a later date. Final blessings for Don were administered by Donna Tysver, an ordained minister.

Don was born on December 28, 1963 in Milwaukee, to Donald and Barbara (Gurney) Pohle I. He married Sheila J. Williams on June 29, 1985 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield. He served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard as a Combat Engineer from June 28, 1982 until his honorable discharge on January 27, 1988.

Don was a state licensed cheese maker and had been employed for various cheese making businesses including Nasonville Dairy. He achieved several cheese making awards and in 1998 received 1st place in the state of Wisconsin for mozzarella string cheese. He currently was employed at Cummins Filtration in Neillsville until the present time.

He enjoyed hunting, coin collecting, steam engine shows, had a complete John Deere pedal tractor collection and was a Green Bay Packer share holder. He enjoyed family time, especially with his grandson, Sylar. He will be missed by his cat, Axel.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila and two daughters, Amanda (Jon) Hatala of Marshfield and Brittney (Richard) Atkinson of Louisiana and one grandson, Sylar Hatala. He is also survived by his parents, Barbara (Steve) Roberts and Donald Pohle I, his siblings, Deb (Jerry) Roe, Brett (Rita) Pohle, Brenda (Rob) Pohle, Jason (Kelly) Pohle. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Beverly Williams and Sheila’s siblings, Myron (Terri) Williams, Jr., Laurie (partner – Ken) Krug, Donna Tysver, Pamela (Eric) Fredrickson and Jolie Williams and foster brothers-in-law, Tim Liebe and Mark Sternweis.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, great nephew, Whitaker Struensee, brothers-in-law Ron Krug and Mark Tysver, sister-in-law, Cindy Williams and father-in-law, Myron Williams.
