Dorothy E. Bohman, age 86, passed away with family at her side on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at her home in the Town of Frankfort, Marathon County.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stratford, where the visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time. Rev. Sengole Vethanayagam will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County, and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. St. Joseph’s Parish Council of Catholic Women will recite the rosary at 9:00 am on Tuesday at the church. Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Dorothy was born on October 17, 1937, in Abbotsford, to Norbert and Elva (Olson) Ven Rooy and was a graduate of Colby High School. She was united in marriage to Donovan J. Bohman on October 5, 1957, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby. He died on September 11, 2009.
In addition to being a farm wife, raising her five children, and assisting her husband as a milk hauler, Dorothy had been employed in food service as a cook at St. Joseph’s Hospital until her retirement.
Dorothy enjoyed shooting pool, riding motorcycle, snowmobiling, and spending time at the camper in Conover.
She is survived by her children Linda Bohman, Cindi Petri, both of Marshfield, Patrick (Debbie) Bohman of Spencer, Gary (Sarah) Bohman and Kelly Bohman, all of Stratford. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jaime Petri, Jason Petri, Jesse (Jessica) Bohman, Eric (Alex) Bohman, Ariel (Charlie) Kauffman, Alex (Emily) Bohman, and Evan (Ashley) Bohman, and seven great grandchildren, Katelynn Seehafer, Evelyn Kauffman, Bentley Bohman, Alex Bohman, Gary Bohman, Oliver Bohman, and Marmee Bohman. She is further survived by sisters, Patsy (Tom) Milbeck and Sandy (Dave) Donatell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson, Adam Bohman, and brothers, James, Richard, Donald, and Peter Ven Rooy.
