Duane R. Kohl, 91, Marshfield, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Wells Nature View on Apple Avenue in Marshfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield with visitation from 9:00 am until service time. Rev. Chris Schwanz will officiate. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield.
Duane was born on January 5, 1931 in Marshfield to Paul and Adela (Bredeman) Kohl. He served in the National Guard from 1948 – 1950. In May of 1949, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Faucher. They were married 62 years when Mary passed in 2010.
Over the years he worked at the Marshfield shoe factory before he moved to the Marshfield Public School System where he retired as a janitorial and maintenance worker.
He was a passionate outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved his family and included them in all his adventures and passions. He was a great teacher.
Duane was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Marshfield, Marshfield Eagles Club # 624, and Marshfield Sportsman Club.
He is survived by his children: Dan (Pam) Kohl of Phillips, Dave (Julaine) Kohl of Garden Valley, Idaho, Dorothy (Dean) Drew of Two Rivers, and Doug (Marian) Kohl of Wittenberg, 12 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister Sandy Bodenheimer of Waupaca.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Adela, wife, Mary Ann, grandson, Dean Drew Jr., and great granddaughter, Loren Norstrum.
