Elaine E. Griswold, 83, Fox Lake, formerly of Pittsville, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Marshfield Medical Center, Beaver Dam.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the Pittsville Community Center, Pittsville, WI, where the visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time. The service will be live-streamed at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Mr. Bruce Shaw, Mr. Eric Nueske, and Mr. Jason Stein will officiate. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery, Pittsville, and serving as pallbearers will be Brendan Robinson, Michael Robinson, Samuel Behm, Sydney Behm, Rick Robinson, and Brian Lerwick. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Elaine was born on September 17, 1937, in Jump River, Taylor County, Wisconsin, to Orville and Hazel (Coblentz) Krisher. She was united in marriage to Fred C. Griswold on January 30, 1971, in Medford, Wisconsin.
In addition to being a devoted farm wife and mother, Elaine had been employed as an operating room technician at Medford Memorial Hospital in Medford, WI, and also worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Company in Marshfield. Later she and her husband owned and operated Griswold’s Fabric Shop and Griswold’s Resale Shop.
Elaine enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She also enjoyed keeping in touch with her nieces and nephews and others. She was a great hostess and had a big heart for all. She made her choice as a young girl to serve the Lord and remained true to that commitment all through her life.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Fred, and twin daughters, Jane (Sydney) Behm of Cambria, WI, and Janice (Rick) Robinson of Chilton, WI. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Brendan and Michael Robinson, both of Mesa, AZ, and Samuel and Sarah Behm, both of Cambria, WI. She is further survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Alice Schmidt, Art (Mary Ann) Griswold, Ruth (Robert) Schmidt, and Mary Lou (John) Schulz, and many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Chester (Erna) Krisher, Alvin (Marjorie) Krisher, Lowell (Elaine) Krisher, and Marvin Krisher, and four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Naomi (George) Topinka, Helen (Victor) Topinka, Edna (Arthur) Topinka and Myrtle (Wilbur) Stockwell.
